To provide an organic EL element having high-luminance and long-life relating to an organic EL display device and a method of manufacturing thereof.
This organic EL display device comprises a first to third organic EL elements OLED which are formed on a substrate SUB and have different luminous colors each other. Each organic EL element OLED comprises an anode AND, a cathode CTD, and a light emitting layer EMT which consists of an organic sandwitched in between the anode AND and the cathode CTD, and a positive hole transporting layer HTL which consists of an organic sandwitched in between the light emitting layer EMT and the anode AND. The positive hole transporting layer HTL includes an organic layer HTL1 and an organic layer HTL2, wherein the organic layer HTL2 faces the substrate SUB across the organic layer HTL1 as well as different hole mobility from that of a the organic layer HTL1. The positive hole transporting layers HTL of the first to third organic EL elements OLED are different each other in thickness, and their organic layers HTL1 are all the same in thickness.
