To provide a manufacturing method of a solid polyelectrolyte membrane-assembly superior in power generation durability by improving joining strength between a catalyst layer containing a protonic acid group containing aromatic polymer which is formed on both faces of the solid polyelectrolyte membrane and a gas diffusion layer joined on the catalyst layer.
This is the manufacturing method of the membrane-electrode assembly which has the catalyst layer containing the protonic acid group containing aromatic polymer and carbon particles on which a metal catalyst is carried, and which has a process in which at least one catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer are joined by interposing an adhesive layer containing the protonic acid group containing aromatic polymer.
