To provide a channel assignment method for efficiently utilizing radio frequency bands without waste.
A newly-established station 1-4 sends a channel assignment request message 6-1 to a management station 1-1. The management station 1-1 selects a primary available channel and a secondary available channel for the newly-established station 1-4 in response to the channel assignment request message 6-1, determines whether channels can be utilized or not while assuming rearrangement of channels being already used, transmits final channel assignment to the newly-established station 1-4 as a channel assignment notification message 6-3 to the newly-established station 1-4, and transmits a utilization channel change of an interference station 1-5 as a channel change instruction message 6-2 to the interference station 1-5. The newly-established station 1-4 performs communication while utilizing the channel assigned thereto, whereas the interference station 1-5 performs communication on the instructed changed channel in accordance with the channel change instruction message 6-2.
