To improve user's operability in data transmission/reception to/from a portable terminal device while improving security for data.
The portable terminal connection apparatus 2 comprises: an external memory I/F 271 having a communication connection terminal fitting to a communication connection terminal of a portable external memory 1 having the communication connection terminal and an RFID tag 120 for storing terminal information; an RFID reader/writer 260 for acquiring the terminal information from the RFID tag 120; a CPU 200 for discriminating whether communication between the external memory 1 and a portable terminal device 3 is permitted or not on the basis of a result that the terminal information is acquired or not; a portable terminal I/F 280 for transmitting the discriminated result of communication permission to the portable terminal device 3; and a switching part 272 for changing the terminal information of the communication connection terminal included in the external memory I/F 271 in accordance with the acquired terminal information.
