To stimulate a driver so as to improve a sense of presence in driving a vehicle based on the image picked up by an on-board camera in order to make the driver feel the pleasure of driving.
The image of a landscape ahead of one's car is picked up by an on-board camera 1 and is input into an image processing device 10. In the image processing device 10, the image of the landscape is processed, and particular patterns, such as a road pattern, vehicle pattern, are extracted, and the present running scene of one's car is estimated based on the kind and the variation with time of the extracted particular patterns. Then, mode variable stimulating sounds are generated according to the present running scene of one's car, and the stimulating sounds are output from a speaker 3.
