To provide a constituent member of a fuel cell capable of enhancing retention strength between separators of an MEA and of constructing a cell by a proper sealing property.
This constituent member of a fuel cell is characterized by comprising: an electrolyte membrane 8; gas diffusion layers (GDLs) 9 and 10 stacked on and integrated with both its surfaces through catalyst-carrying layers 9a and 10a constituting electrodes; an extension part 8a of the electrolyte membrane 8 extending to the outside from edge parts of the GDLs 9 and 10; liquid rubber or synthetic resin-impregnated band parts 9b and 10b formed along the inside of the edge parts of the GDLs 9 and 10; a support frame part piece 11 comprising two synthetic resin films 11a and 11b stuck to and integrated with the outside surfaces of the impregnated band parts 9b and 10b and the extension part 8a of the electrolyte membrane and further extending to the outside as compared with the extension part 8a; and a gasket body 12 integrated with both surfaces of the support frame part piece 11 so as to cover at least the circumferential edge part thereof.
