To provide a coin handling apparatus in which a detection means for detecting coin supply is arranged near a discharging part to reduce the whole size.

A detection sensor 23 to detect discharge of the coin 2 is arranged near the discharging part 41. In this case, when the discharging operation stops, the detection sensor 23 may erroneously detect the coin 2 although the coin 2 is not actually discharged. Therefore, it is so controlled to discriminate whether or not the coin 2 is actually discharged. Specifically, after a specified time period from beginning of discharge stop operation, a standard time period to determine the passing time of the coin 2, which is detected by the detection sensor 23, is extended.
