Abstract:

To provide a method for operating a continuous heating furnace, with which production of NOx is reduced without making an apparatus complicated nor damaging durability, and stable combustion can be attained.

The continuous heating furnace 10 is provided with: a waste gas combustion controller 30; and pairs of regenerating type burners 19, 19, ... having means of a primary combustion of igniting mixed gas obtained by mixing fuel and air for combustion in respective zones 15-18 in the inner part of the burner with an ignition devices and injecting it in a furnace and a secondary combustion of separately injecting the fuel and the air for combustion into the furnace and naturally igniting the mixed gas. A prescribed temperature having the temperature naturally igniting the mixed gas in the secondary combustion or higher, is made a combustion conversion temperature, and the regenerating type burner disposed in the zone having the temperature of this combustion conversion temperature or higher, is secondarily burnt and also, the oxygen concentration in the air for combustion is made 17-20% in volume ratio by using the waste gas-combustion controller, and the continuous reheating furnace is operated.
