Abstract:

To provide magnetic composite metal fine particles that are suitable for use particularly in the medical care/diagnosis fields, biotechnology fields, environment-related fields and like and a method for producing the same.

A method for producing a noble metal/magnetic metal oxide composite body is characterized by dispersing magnetic metal oxide fine particles in a solution containing a noble metal ion or adding to the solution a metal ion that can form the magnetic metal oxide and irradiating the resulting dispersion or solution with ultrasonic waves, ionizing radiation or ultraviolet light. The noble metal/magnetic metal oxide composite body is obtained by the method. The required composite body is stably mass-produced with high yield. The composite body obtained in this way is useful particularly for medical care field.
