Abstract:
To provide a lithium secondary battery having high capacity, superior safety at abnormal overheating, and excellent reliability, with respect to short-circuit.
The lithium secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator. The separator includes a porous layer (I) of which the main material is a porous thermoplastic resin, and a porous layer (II) mainly containing a filler with a heat-resistant temperature of 150°C or higher. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode mixture layer which contains a compound, containing Si and O in a constituent element (where the atomic ratio "x" of O to Si satisfies 0.5≤x≤1.5), and a conductive material.
