To obtain secure watertightness between both extended ends by joining work of both of the extended ends of an impervious sheet which are extended opposite to each other, and make the joining work easy.
In the first process of the joining method of the extended ends of the impervious sheet, the extended end 12 of the first impervious sheet 6(A) is folded A, and the end edge 12a of the extended end 12 in the longitudinal direction is positioned above the water surface position 11. In the second process, the end edge 12a of the extended end 12 of the second impervious sheet 6(B) in the longitudinal direction or the side edges 12b, 12b' of the extended end 12 in the width direction and the end edge 12a of the extended end 12 of the first impervious sheet 6(A) are joined together. In the third process, the folding A of the extended end 12 of the first impervious sheet 6(A) is developed B so that it is brought back into its original shape. Then the second impervious sheet 6(B) is extended long in the horizontal direction, and the cross section of each of its parts in the longitudinal direction is extended up and down by crossing the water surface position 11.
