To compact a component with a thickness deviation shape whose compression direction thickness gradually increases in such a manner that it has a tilted surface with a relatively shape angle at a uniform green density.
The inside of the die hole 1 of a die 20 is set with a lower punch 32 having a lower punch tilted surface 33 forming the tilted surface 5 of a component 1. The upper part of the lower punch 32 is provided with a slider 50 whose compression direction thickness is same as that of a component 1 and having a slider tilted surface 51 parallel to the lower punch tilted surface 33. In such a state that the slider 50 is retreated from the die hole 51, powder P is filled into the die hole 51, then, the slider 50 is progressed into the die hole 51, and in a state where the slider tilted surface 51 and the lower punch tilted surface 33 are superimposed to the upper and lower directions, the powder P is filled into the die hole 51. From this state, the upper punch 41 is inserted into the die hole 21, and further, while the slider 50 is gradually retreated from the slider synchronously with the operation of the inserting operation of the upper punch 41, the powder P is compressed.
