To provide a cyclone-type solid-gas separator preventing a cyclone and piping from being blocked by the solidification of tar, soot particles or the like contained in a thermally cracked gas, and further preventing the tar and a carbonized product attached thereto from being ignited by leaked air, and to provide a carbonizing apparatus equipped with the solid-gas separator.
The cyclone-type solid-gas separator 10 arranged on a gas passage connected to a thermally cracked gas outlet of a carbonizing furnace 2 is equipped with a heater 35 for heating the solid-gas separator 10 from outside to keep the separator worm, and a purging gas feeder 25 for feeding a purging gas comprising an inert gas or steam, installed in a narrow part at which the cross section shape of the solid-gas separator is narrowed. Preferably, a thermometer 33 for measuring the gas outlet temperature of the cyclone-type solid-gas separator 10 is installed, and the fed amount of the purging gas is controlled based on the measured temperature at the purging gas feeder.
