To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine appropriately determining abnormality of a low-pressure EGR valve and also correcting the amount of EGR gas at need, in a hybrid vehicle.
A motoring control means performs the motoring of the internal combustion engine by a motor generator during deceleration fuel cut after finishing PM regeneration. A correction means performs correction so that intake air volume is matched with air volume passing through a catalyst, calculated from a predetermined formula or map based on differential pressure. An abnormality determination means opens a low-pressure EGR passage, calculates air volume passing through the low-pressure EGR passage based on the intake air volume and differential pressures at front and rear sides, and determines abnormality of the low-pressure EGR valve based on the air volume. An EGR gas correction means corrects the opening of a throttle valve when it is determined that it is necessary to correct gas volume recirculating in the low-pressure EGR passage.
