Abstract:
Provided is an objective lens that enables the suppression of molding defects in a high NA lens, and an optical pickup device. As the objective lens (OBJ) includes a thick-flange section (FT), a thick-flange-section forming section (11c) can be formed on a first-flange-section transfer surface (11b) of a first mold (10) so as to connect to a gate section (GT), as shown in FIG. 2. Thereby, the cross sectional area of the gate section (GT) is increased, which allows optimizing the gate seal time, applying sufficient pressure, and effectively removing air.
