Abstract:
To provide a power supply system which eliminates the need for stepping-down a voltage during discharging without lowering its reliability.
The power supply system comprises, as constituent elements: a rectifier 1; a plurality of battery packs 4 constituted of nickel hydrogen storage battery cells and connected in parallel; a charger 3; a charge controlling means 9; a battery voltage monitoring means 4 for monitoring the voltage of each battery pack 4; and a battery pack connecting switch 5 inserted into the discharge circuit of each battery pack 4. The charge controlling means 9 charges the battery packs 4 in response to the output voltage of the rectifier 1 and the voltage of the battery packs 4.
