To provide a method of manufacturing a powder for white lines which allows effective utilization of waste gypsum boards as a powder for white lines more excellent in performance than a conventional powder for white lines such as a calcium carbonate powder and a gypsum powder.

The powder for white lines is a powder obtained by removing paper fragments and paper powder, which are derived from raw paper coating waste gypsum boards, from pulverized products obtained by pulverizing odds and ends of waste gypsum boards in a construction field. The powder 22 for white lines derived from waste gypsum boards is composed of agglomerated particles 23 formed by agglomerating rod-like crystals 24 with a width of 0.3 to 2.0 μm and a length of 1.0 to 10 μm and having a diameter of primary constituent particles of 100 to 1,000 μm and a particle density of 0.70 to 1.20 g/cm3.
