Abstract:

To increase charging/discharging currents of a battery pack in which a microcomputer restorably performs protection such as cutting off charging/discharging currents by turning off the FET interposed in the charging/discharging path to a cell unit, if a temperature sensor such as a thermistor senses a temperature in the pack such as cell temperature, to get the result of sensing being a specified threshold temperature or higher.

With the threshold temperature being variable, a setting part 21c sets an optimum threshold temperature at a safe protection control unit 21b according to the current value of charging/discharging when detected by a current detecting resistor 16. So, the current as much as possible can be flown within such range as FETs 12 and 13 perform restorable protection, to respond to the request for increase in charging/discharging currents.
