Abstract:
A flat bed knitting machine (11), in which needles are driven by a cam mechanism on a moving carriage (13), has a carriage position detector (18); transposition controllers; detectors for the position of the needle bed (12); evaluators for the carriage position relative to the bed utilizing the detectors; and controllers for carrying out needle selection for transposition during movement of the bed, based on the carriage position relative to the bed. A flat bed knitting machine (11), in which knitting needles are driven by a cam mechanism supported on a carriage (13) moving to and fro along a longitudinal channel in a longitudinally transposable needle bed (12), has a detector (18) for the carriage position in the machine; transposition controllers; detectors for the bed position in the machine; evaluators for the carriage position relative to the bed utilizing the detectors; and controllers for carrying out the transposed needle selection during movement of the bed, based on the carriage position relative to the bed.
