To provide an image processor for generating an image useful to a user at the position of his own vehicle, and to provide an image processing method.

The image processor mounted on a vehicle is provided with: an image acquiring part for acquiring photographed images photographed by a plurality of cameras; a position recognizing part for recognizing a vehicle position being information about the position of the vehicle; a position classification recognizing part for recognizing a position classification being a classification of the vehicle position recognized by the position recognizing part; a visual point determining part for determining a visual point on the basis of the position classification recognized by the position classification recognizing part; and an image generating part for generating an image seen from the visual point determined by the visual point determining part as an output image on the basis of the photographed image acquired by the image acquiring part.
