The imaging apparatus comprises an imaging element (103) which has a plurality of pixels, converts the incident optical image of an object into an electric signal, and outputs image data, a camera shake correcting unit (126) which shifts the position of incidence of the optical image on the imaging element, a switch (110) for instructing still picture photography during the moving picture photography, control means (118 and 105) of controlling the camera shake correcting unit according to the instruction so that the incidence position of the optical image is shifted to a different position from each other by ≤1 pixel while making a plurality of frames one cycle, a superresolution processing circuit (116) which combines image data of a plurality of frames obtained in one cycle together with one image according to the instruction so that pixel density increases, and an electronic vibration-proof circuit for correcting the image data of the respective frames so that the shifting of incidence position of the optical image by the control means is canceled.
