Abstract:

To provide an electrolyte membrane for a solid polymer fuel cell in which stable power generation is possible over a long period with high power generation performance regardless of humidification conditions of a supply gas.

This is the electrolyte membrane for the solid polymer fuel cell made of a cation exchange membrane made of a polymer having a proton-conductive ion-exchange group. One or more kinds selected from the group consisting of cerium atoms and manganese atoms are contained, and conductivity measured under conditions of 80°C and 95% relative humidity is 0.15 to 1 S/cm, while the conductivity measured under the conditions of 80°C and 30% relative humidity is 0.01 to 0.2 S/cm.
