To provide a method of manufacturing a bracket for front forks capable of integrating a bracket body and a lid member without spoiling a fine appearance.
The method of manufacturing a bracket for front forks includes a preparation step for providing a lid member 3 so as to cover a recess portion recessed in one face of a fabricated material 2 that is a base material of a bracket body, a friction-stirring joining step for relatively moving a rotation tool T for friction-stir joining along a friction-stirring route set to include a borderline P between an open edge part of the recess portion of the fabricated material 2 and a periphery part of the lid member 3, and a hole formation step for forming fork attachment holes and a steering shaft insertion hole 12 penetrating through the bracket body. In the friction stir joining step, the friction stir is terminated with a finishing allowance 22s of the steering shaft insertion hole 12. In the hole formation step, the finishing allowance 22s is removed.
