This attendance registration device is provided with: a read part for reading an identification code from a storage medium owned by a user; a write part for writing a term of validity in the storage medium; a storage part for preliminarily storing an identification code for identifying the user; and a control part for collating the storage medium and registering the attendance of the user. The control part is provided with a collation means for collating the identification code of the storage medium read by the read part with an identification code for collation stored in the storage part to decide whether or not the storage medium is legitimate; an attendance registration means for registering the attendance of the user when it is decided that the storage medium is legitimate by the collation means; and a validity term calculation means for calculating the term of validity for storing the storage medium in a valid state when the attendance of the user is registered by the attendance registration means, and for causing the write part to write it in the storage medium.
