To provide an optical scanner in which a focusing adjustment (correction for deteriorated resolution) accompanying the change of projection distance is carried out with a simple configuration and miniaturization is made attainable by reducing a necessary space for focusing adjustment.
The optical scanner has: a scanning means 103 which scans a luminous flux from a light source; a first optical system 104A which forms an intermediate image 108 in the luminous flux from the scanning means; a luminous flux component generation means 109 which is arranged in a specific region A including the position of the intermediate image and generates a plurality of luminous flux components from the luminous flux from the first optical system; a second optical system 104B which focuses the plurality of luminous flux components onto a face to be scanned 105; and a moving means 120 which moves the luminous flux component generation means within the specific region.
