To provide a video distribution system in which a load on a center server is suppressed.

A client comprises: a connection server history storage section for storing server response information about responses from first to third local servers at the time when contents have been distributed to the client in the past; a server selection section for selecting a center server when there is no server response information in the connection server history storage section, and selecting any one of the first to third local servers from which the server response information is excellent when there are server response information items in the connection server history storage section; and a fifth communication section for transmitting a first distribution request signal to the center server when the server selected by the server selection section is the center server, and transmitting a second distribution request signal to the selected local server when the server selected by the server selection section is the local server.
