Abstract:

To provide a honeycomb structure can efficiently clean carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxide (NOx), etc. contained in an exhaust gas.

The honeycomb structure includes porous partitioning walls so formed as to define and form a plurality of cells to be channels for a fluid which pass completely through both end parts and the outer circumferential wall so arranged as to surround the partitioning walls. The partitioning walls are curved to prevent a fluid from moving straightly in the cells and a plurality of pin holes with an average diameter of 100 to 500 μm and piercing the partitioning walls are formed in the partitioning walls.
