To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of reducing the deterioration of a rate characteristic when stored, in particular, when stored under a high voltage and a high temperature.
This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery of the present invention is provided with a positive electrode containing an active material for occluding and releasing lithium ion, a negative electrode for occluding and releasing lithium ion, a separator arranged between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, the separator contains a material containing an electron-attracting substituent, the nonaqueous electrolyte contains a nonaqueous solvent and a solute dissolved thereinto, and the nonaqueous solvent contains at least one kind selected out of the group comprising a fluoride containing aromatic solvent, a fluoride containing cyclic carbonate and a fluoride containing cyclic carboxylate.
