Abstract:
Can-less sliver packages 5 from an upstream sliver delivering machine, e.g. storage means 30(a-f), are received on a substantially unenclosed support 25(a,b), e.g. a pallet, and then transferred to a downstream sliver fed machine, e.g. press 41 . The support pallet 25 may be provided with further support elements 26 against which the package(s) 5 may rest. The support and/or the supporting elements may be inclinable about a horizontal axis. The transport device 38 may be selected from a fork-lift truck, a wagon, a track or rail guided vehicle, belt conveyor or a suspended conveyor. The support 25 is capable of holding at least one package 5 for the common transport of the sliver packages.
