The imaging apparatus 101 is equipped with: an imaging device 106 functioning as an imaging means for photoelectrically converting a subject image formed by an imaging optical system 102; a moving means for moving the subject image relatively to the imaging device 106; an exposure control part 115 functioning as an exposure control means for controlling the exposure of the subject image; an arithmetic calculation means for arithmetically calculating a target moving amount for the special effect of the moving means based on locus data for special effect stored in a memory; and a driving means for driving the moving means at least based on the target moving amount. When the moving means is driven based on the target moving amount for special effect, the exposure control part 115 adjusts the exposure based on the locus data for special effect.
