A swash plate type piston motor 1 in which an inclined rolling angle of a swash plate 40 can be changed, includes a swash plate back journal 41 protruding having an arc-shaped section from behind a swash plate 30, and a bearing 42 for slidably supporting the swash plate back journal 41. The swash plate 40 rotates about an inclined rolling axis O40, and the inclined rolling center axis O40 is arranged so as to intersect a rotational axis O5 of a cylinder block 4, and the inclined rolling axis O40 is located in a direction moving away from the cylinder block 4 relative to a shoe rocking center surface determined by rolling center point of each shoe 22, and in a direction approaching the cylinder block 4 from a back 40b of the swash plate 40.
