To provide portable electronic equipment which discriminates whether an acceleration caused by an artificial operation is applied to the portable electronic equipment or a tilting angle of the portable electronic equipment in the present situation is great simply, cancels the acceleration when the acceleration caused by the artificial operation is applied, and detects the accurate tilting angle.

A driver IC 46 acquires predetermined number of detection values detected by an acceleration sensor 45 at predetermined intervals, a CPU 49 sets a predetermined range based on a first detection value among the predetermined number of detection values acquired and determines whether detection values, after the first detection value, among the predetermined number of detection values acquired at the predetermined intervals are settled within the predetermined range or not and when it is determined that the detection values are settled within the predetermined range, a final detection value among the predetermined number of detection values is determined as an output value of an acceleration sensor 45 but when it is determined that the detection values are not settled within the predetermined range, a predetermined value is determined as the output value of the acceleration sensor 45.
