To obtain an imaging apparatus and its program by which accuracy in exposure control is improved and further an abnormal exposure state is avoided.
Integral mean values wR, wG and wB of respective color components and a luminance integral means value wY which are obtained by weighting the center of a viewing angle are calculated (S32 and S33). When deciding that a night view mode is On (Y in S34), integral means values cR, cG and cB of the respective color components in the center area of the viewing angle and a luminance integral means value cY in the center area of the viewing angle are calculated (S35 and S36). When cY is larger than wY, a highest-level value out of the integral mean values cR, cG, cB and cY which are obtained by weighting the center area of the viewing angle is set as an integral mean value for evaluation S (S59). When Y1 is not larger than Y2, a highest-level value out of the integral mean values wR, wG, wB and wY which are obtained by weighting the center is set as the integral mean value for evaluation S (S60). Then, exposure control is performed based on the integral mean value for evaluation S (S7 to S9 and S13 in figure 2).
