Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce artificial stone composed of a hydrated solidified body of a slag raw material with high productivity.SOLUTION: A method for producing artificial stone includes placing a kneaded material A of a raw material essentially consisting of steel slag and blast furnace slag fine powder and water on a yard, subjecting the kneaded material A to hydration hardening, and roughly crushing the resulting hydrated solidified body, wherein the yard is provided with a plurality of parallel troughs; the kneaded material A is placed in the grooves between the troughs; a placed body of the kneaded body (A) is hardened; and then the placed body is crushed in the width direction at the positions suitably spaced in the longitudinal direction thereof with heavy equipment to form massive stone. Since a long and slender hydrated solidified body is formed between the troughs, massive stone can be obtained only by subjecting the hydrated solidified body to two face crushing in the width direction in the rough crushing step, and the rough crushing operation can be extremely efficiently performed. Thus, the artificial stone composed of a hydrated solidified body of a slag raw material can be produced with high productivity.
