To provide a brush roll which does not generate washing waste on a surface to be washed and which has a high washing performance capable of efficiently and surely removing objects such as foreign matters over a long period without being restricted by the rotating direction of the brush roll and also provide a washing device on which the brush roll is mounted.

This brush roll 1 includes a generally bar-like or cylindrical rotating shaft 3 and a brush section 2 which is spirally wound on the outer periphery of the rotating shaft 3. The brush section 2 is formed by arranging parallel to each other three or more brush bodies 4a, 4b, 4c formed of a channel brush 5 having a band-like body 6 of U-shape in cross section and a brush bristle material 8 held by the band-like body 6 together with a core 7 and spirally winding the brush bodies on the outer periphery of the rotating shaft 3. The brush bodies 4a, 4b, 4c have an inclination angle θ equal to or less than 45° to a perpendicular P.L. from the axis C.L. of the rotating shaft 3, and secured to the outer periphery of the rotating shaft 3 by a fixing means 10.
