Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that can reduce power consumption and take high-definition moving image at high speed without causing decrease in recordable time and the number of sheets of still images to take.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging processing unit 21 which is driven in a plurality of operation modes and includes an imaging device 1 and a plurality of processing units 2, 3, 4, 5, 17 that process imaging signals output from the imaging device 1; an interval control circuit 16 that causes the imaging processing unit 21 to switch between a standby state and a normal state in predetermined timing; and a control unit 11 which outputs a control signal to the interval control circuit 16 in accordance with the operation mode of the imaging processing unit 21. The interval control circuit 16 is provided individually to the pixel unit and the processing units. When the imaging processing unit 21 is in a live-view operation mode, the system control unit 11 outputs to the interval control circuit 16 a control signal for causing the interval control circuit 16 to execute the switching control.
