Abstract:
Catalyst support (I) comprises a base of alumina, where (I) has a specific surface lower than 90 m 2>/g; a total porous volume of at least 0.3 cm 3>/g; a distribution of porosity at least bimodal allowing to distinguish a main and a secondary porosity; a relation of order between the main and the secondary porosity; and crystallographic phases determined by diffraction of X-rays corresponding to alpha/theta/kappa/delta/gamma alumina. Catalyst support (I) comprises a base of alumina, where (I) has a specific surface measured by isotherm of nitrogen adsorption lower than 90 m 2>/g; a total porous volume measured by mercury intrusion of at least 0.3 cm 3>/g; a distribution of porosity at least bimodal allowing to distinguish a main porosity (in which at least 80% of total porous volume corresponds to pores of size larger than 15 Nm) and a secondary porosity (in which at least 3% of total porous volume corresponds to pores of size lower than 12 nm); a relation of order between the main porosity and the secondary porosity defined by the fact that every element of the main porosity communicates either with the exterior of the support particle, or with at least an element of the secondary porosity (where the phrase is to be taken in a nonexclusive sense); and crystallographic phases determined by diffraction of X-rays corresponding to alpha/theta/kappa/delta/gamma alumina. An independent claim is also included for the preparation of (I).
