To secure brightness in a range wider than an actual working place of a human by lighting or dimming an illumination device in an illumination area in which presence of the human is detected.
In an illumination control system 1, respective human-sensitive sensors 3 are made to correspond to an illumination fixture 21 of one or more illumination devices 2. At least one illumination fixture 21 is commonly made to correspond to two or more of the neighboring human-sensitive sensors 3. In respective illumination devices 2, according to a detection state of presence of the human in the human-sensitive sensor 3 with which the illumination fixture 21 is coping, an illumination control part 20 carries out illumination control against the illumination fixture 21. That is, by setting a range wider than a range (human-sensitive detection area 5) of the illumination fixture 21 to be normally controlled by one human-sensitive sensor 3 as a control range 4, when the human enters the actual working area, not only the illumination device 2 in the area but also the illumination device 2 in the periphery of the area is lighted.
