Abstract:

To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine certainly preventing deterioration of a filter and damage to the filter by preventing the excessive temperature rise of the filter after transferring to an idle operation condition or the like while maintaining good fuel economy and exhaust gas characteristics.

In this control device 1, output of the internal combustion engine 3 is previously restricted in a normal operating condition according to the calculated amount of particulates deposited QPM and detected filter temperature TDPF in order to prevent the excessive temperature rise of the filter 14 after the internal combustion engine 3 is transferred from the normal operating condition to the idle operating condition or the like.
