To provide a battery case for an electric vehicle for surely sealing the joining part of a tray member and a cover member.
The battery case 50 includes the tray member 51 and the cover member 52. A seal retention groove 71 is formed on a cover fitting surface 70 of the tray member 51, and a seal member 72 is installed in the seal retention groove 71. The seal retention groove 71 and the seal member 72 are continued over the circumstance of the peripheral wall 54 of the tray member 51. A first embedded nut 232 is installed in a metallic insert member 210a. A second embedded nut 250 is installed on the cover fitting surface 70 in the position different from that of the first embedded nut 232. The tray member 51 and the cover member 52 are joined through the seal member 72 by superimposing a flange part 95 of the cover member 52 on the cover fitting surface 70 and screwing a bolt 100A and a bolt 100 into the first embedded nut 232 and the second embedded nut 250 respectively.
