To improve accuracy for control of an air-fuel ratio upon transition of acceleration from a low load region, in relation to a control device of an internal combustion engine that estimates in-cylinder airflow of the internal combustion engine with a supercharger using a physical model of an intake system to calculate fuel injection amount.
The control device of the internal combustion engine includes: an in-cylinder airflow-calculator for calculating the in-cylinder airflow using the intake system model; a model error corrector for correcting a predetermined calculated value of the in-cylinder airflow-calculating unit on the basis of flow rate of an air flow meter; a fuel injection amount-calculator for calculating the fuel injection amount on the basis of the in-cylinder airflow having been corrected by the model error correcting unit; a transition error predictor for predicting in advance whether a transition airflow error generated upon the transition of acceleration from the low load region will exceed a tolerance, the error being between the in-cylinder airflow having been corrected and actual in-cylinder airflow; and a transition error corrector for correcting the fuel injection amount upon the transition of acceleration when the transition airflow error is predicted to exceed the tolerance.
