Abstract:

To provide an exhaust gas treatment device and a method capable of minimizing a concentration of dioxin in exhaust gas without increasing a treatment target exhaust gas amount and without drastically increasing a collected dust amount.

The exhaust gas treatment device for removing dioxin in exhaust gas discharged from a heat treatment device 1 includes: a cooling tower 3 for cooling the exhaust gas to 100°C or lower; a bag filter 4 receiving the exhaust gas cooled by the cooling tower 3, removing dust which is 1 μm or larger in particle diameter and removing the dust to reduce the concentration of dust which is smaller than 1 μm in particle diameter at an outlet to 0.5 mg/m3N or lower; and an HEPA filter 5 receiving the exhaust gas from which dust is removed by the bag filter 4 and removing the dust to reduce the concentration of dust which is smaller than 1 μm in particle diameter at an outlet to 0.03 mg/m3N or lower.
