Abstract:
An electrically-heated catalytic converter (1A) comprises a catalyst support (2) which produces heat when electric current is applied, a holding mat (4) made of an electrical insulating material, the holding mat (4) being provided so as to cover an outer circumference of the catalyst support (2), and a case (3) which houses the catalyst support (2) and holds the catalyst support (2) via the holding mat (4). The catalytic converter (1A) treats gas flowing in the case (3) by a catalyst supported on the catalyst support (2).
The holding mat (4) has a water-absorbing property. An insulation layer (5) made of an electrical insulating material is provided between the case (3) and the holding mat (4).
