Abstract:

To provide a method for producing reduced iron using high zinc-content iron ore with which the effective utilization can be obtained.

This method for producing the reduced iron using the high zinc-content iron ore is characterized in that: mixed raw materials 4 mixing iron ore containing the high zinc-content iron ore composed of ≥0.01 mass% zinc and ≥50 mass% iron, and carbonaceous solid reducing material are piled up on a moving-type furnace hearth 3; and the mixed raw materials 4 are reduced by supplying the heat from the upper part of the furnace hearth 3, and further, being not fused or fused to only a part thereof to obtain the reduced iron. It is desirable that a blending ratio of the high zinc-content iron ore is ≥10 mass% of the whole iron ore; the mixed raw materials 4 are piled up on the furnace hearth 3 by agglomerating the raw materials; the mixed raw materials 4 are piled up on the piled-up layer of the carbonaceous material on the furnace hearth 3; and the mixed raw materials 4 are heated to ≥1,250°C.
