The bulk hetero-junction type organic photoelectric converting element including a photoelectric converting layer of a bulk hetero-junction structure which is disposed between first and second electrode layers, and a charge carrying layer which mainly carries charges of either holes or electrons and is disposed between the photoelectric converting layer and the first electrode or between the photoelectric converting layer and the second electrode, characterized in that the charge carrying layer is constituted of at least two or more layers and the respective layer have different electric conductivities.
