To provide an electrooptical device that compatibly achieves securement of reliability and narrowing of a frame.
The thickness of each of two glass substrates constituting a display panel 18 is set to ≤50 μm while microcracks are not caused at a periphery, so that the display panel can be bent at an almost right angle. The display panel 18 is held while the ends of respective sides of its frame area F abut on a sidewall 55 of a housing 52 by bending the right and left sides of the frame area F to a supporting frame 50 side from the vicinity of the periphery of a display area V while the back side of the display area V is supported by a supporting part 51 of the supporting frame 50. Namely, the frame area F is bent to the supporting frame 50 side while the ends of the frame area F abut on the sidewall 55 of the housing 52, thereby the length in terms of plane of the frame area is shortened. Furthermore, the frame area F is constituted to be bent, thereby the length of the frame area F is made long enough to secure the reliability.
