The present invention relates to a method for reducing power consumption of a cellular phone terminal outside of an area wherein the cellular phone is communicable with a base station, with which, when a communication stop request is input from a stop recognizing section 13 to a control section 10 outside of the area wherein the cellular phone terminal is communicable with the base station, a power supply control section 12 is caused to stop power supply to a radio section 2 and a baseband processing section 3 to stop a communication function and while any other functions than the communication function are available, transmitting and receiving operations of communication connection information are not performed.
