To provide a rubber composition bringing about a tire with excellent rolling resistance by further reducing hysteresis loss, and to provide the tire using the same.
The rubber composition contains: (A) a rubber component including a modified conjugated diene-based polymer of 10 mass% or more; (B) an inorganic filler containing silicic acid of 10-140 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component; and (C) a silane coupling agent of 1-20 mass% with respect to (B) the inorganic filler. The rubber composition is formed by conducting a modification reaction by allowing active terminals of a conjugated diene-based polymer having alkali metal active terminals to react with an alkoxysilane compound, as the modified conjugated diene-based polymer, further conducting a condensation reaction by using a condensation accelerator, and using the obtained product, wherein the silane coupling agent with a predetermined structure is used. The tire uses the rubber composition.
