Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover material for book binding which prevents separation of a colored layer and a surface-treated layer and is improved further in strength.SOLUTION: A cover material 1 for book binding consists of a colored layer 3 and a surface-treated layer 5 provided, in this order, on the surface of a fiber base material 2 impregnated with a resin. The fiber base material 2 has a basis weight of 20-200 g/m, and the resin is a mixture of an acrylic acid ester copolymer of a glass transition temperature of -50 to 0°C and an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, in a weight ratio, by solid contents, of the acrylic acid ester copolymer to the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in the mixture of 5-10. A primer layer 7 of a weight of 0.5-5 g/mis provided between the colored layer 3 and the surface-treated layer 5.
