Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging method capable of promptly searching for and recording a still picture which missed imaging or timing.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises a release switch for starting an imaging operation, an operating section 4 which detects a state of the release switch, an imaging section 1 which captures continuous images before operating the release switch and converts the images into image data, a motion picture temporary recording section 2a which temporarily records continuous image data representing the continuous images, a still picture recording section 2b which records a still picture selected out of the continuous image data, and a slow playback section 3 which plays back the continuous images temporarily recorded by the motion picture temporary recording section 2a in response to long depression of the release switch. During playback of the continuous images, in accordance with an operational state of the release switch, image data selected out of the continuous images are recorded in the still picture recording section 2b.
